Dr. Evangeline Njoka is the founder and CEO of Enable Africa International NGO. She has a great vision and passion to change the lives of communities in Africa through empowerment for them to live decent and healthy lives. She is an educationalist with strong professional and academic qualifications that include a Doctorate Degree in Education Management from the University of Durham, United Kingdom (2007); a Master’s Degree in Education Management and Planning from the University of Nairobi (2002); a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Catholic University of Eastern Africa (Honours) (1999) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from University of Nairobi (1985). In addition, she is highly skilled in project management and research. She has a wide and long experience in public service having served as a public servant of the Government of Kenya for 37 years in different capacities with accolades of excellence that include a Presidential Award for distinguished service on12th December 2016, the Moran of the Burning Spear (MBS), Third Order. She served as a teacher, a principal of two secondary schools in Embu, a Research Officer at the then Kenya Institute of Education (now Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development), and a Senior Assistant Director of Education, at the Ministry of Education Headquarters before joining the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO as a Deputy Secretary General. She later on became the CEO and Secretary General of the Commission as a State Corporation, for ten years until 31st May 2023, when she retired from Government service. As she exited, she was credited for having transformed the Commission into a high-performing model organisation with a high profile globally. She continues to serve her community and mankind in different capacities such as Boards of Management in secondary schools and her local church. She is a Member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Embu Endowment Fund. She also holds directorship in Reddamac Leather Centre and the Cynerd Healthcare Group which partners with EAI in mental healthcare provision.
