Ireri Waithavu is the Chairman of the Board of the Enable Africa International NGO. He is a qualified Climate Change and Environmental Social Impacts Assessment / Environmental Audit expert, sociologist and communicator relishing new and dynamic challenges. He currently holds the position of Vice-Chairman of Embu County Professionals Development Association (ECPDA) an Association that aims at bringing together Embu County Professionals to network between themselves and to use their skills and experiences to give back to the County as desirable, Board of Management Member Kangaru School among others. Founder, Smiles for Children Foundation that has supported Oncology Paediatric Ward at Kenyatta National Hospital for over 20 years. The support has been in form of pharmaceutical, nonpharmaceutical supplies and infrastructural development. Founder Chairman and Trustee of Home of Smile Foundation and Director Home of Smile Education Center, a donor funded community based school based in Ugweri, Kagaari South Embu East Sub County. A Climate Change and Environment Protection Consultant, Ireri is a holder of Master of Science degree in Climate Change, University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Communication, Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Certificate in Environmental Protection, Environmental Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI), Hyderabad, India under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme. A member Environment Institute Kenya (EIK) and accredited National Environment Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA) as Associate Expert. Has worked for Climate Action and Cleaner Production, Runji Consulting Group, Wild Wide Fund and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) among other organisations.
