World Suicide Prevention Day 2024

The Chair and CEO of Enable Africa International joined stakeholders of Cynert Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre in marking the World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) on 10th September 2024 at the facility. The theme of the 2024 WSPD is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” with the call to action, “starting the conversation “. The event was graced by students from the University of Embu and Embu College. The local community also attended the function. Mr Ireri and Dr Njoka spoke on the theme of the day and emphasised the need to seek help when suffering from depression or any other psychological difficulty. All speakers spoke on the key message of the day, that suicide is preventable. EAI had earlier on rescued a client at the tipping point of suicide and brought him to the Centre. The EAI team was glad to see him recovering well.
